GenAI for Practitioner – Penang

When the machine can do the work, what is the work for the people?

Here’s what’s actually happening on the ground right now:

A PM signs off on a deliverable. AI helped build it — the data analysis, the report, the slide deck. Nobody officially decided “we’re using AI for this.” It just… happened, somewhere between a tight deadline and a convenient shortcut.

The PM doesn’t think of this as a governance issue. It’s just Tuesday.

But somewhere down the line — a client question, an audit, a board review — someone is going to ask: who checked this, and on what basis?

And the honest answer, for a lot of projects right now, is: nobody planned for that question.

That’s not a PMO problem. That’s not a compliance problem. That’s a project-level decision that was never owned — by the person closest to it.
